My Attempt to Clone Lilies from Davao

Tita Ems just got back from Davao today and brought this beauty. I'll be attempting to root them on Jiffy 7 (peat pellets). I seem to have lost the snapshot I got of how it looked like when it arrived. But the top portion with all 5 flower buds which I left out can be seen here.

The lowest portion of the stem was badly damaged from the florist stripping the leaves off. I managed to get two 6 inch cuttings each with 3 leaves from the bottom end discarding about 5 inches from the original bottom end. I then cut them with a blade at a 60 degree angle according to some forum discussions on cloning that I recently read. I've also applied a coat of "Quick Clone" rooting gel on about a couple of inches from the cut and inserted it into the Jiffy three quarters of the way in. Put them in a Ziploc baggie to maintain moisture and humidity.

Another view of what was left after harvesting a couple of cuttings
